Crawler

Posted on

I”m pretty good at crawling these days.  I move one leg, then the other leg and I can get all the way across the room to find the thing I know mom would least like me to have.  That way she’s sure to pay attention.  My only crawling trouble comes when I start to think about the amazing thing I’m doing or if I want to go faster.  Then both of my legs seem to want to go at the same time and I do a little hop-scoot. It still keeps me going in the right direction even if it’s not graceful.  Now that I’ve nearly mastered that skill, I’m moving on to pulling up on things, then walking.

Now She Tells Me

Posted on

I spent a good amount of time and effort this afternoon keeping my feet out of the grass while I was sitting on it.  After all, the saying goes “don’t step on the grass or you’ll break your mother’s back.” What’s that mom? The saying is actually “don’t step on the cracks or you’ll break your mother’s back”?  Sheesh. Well, it was pokey anyway. I even let Corey laugh at me and take a picture.

In the Morning

Posted on

In the morning, I wake up and I streeeeeetch.

Then I rub my eyes to get all the sleep out of them.  During the week, mom and dad are already up and staring at me.

During the weekend, I have to tell them to wake up by laughing and smiling.  If I cry, they just roll over and shush me, but if I smile it works to get them to open their eyes every time.  Even if it is 6 in the morning.

Potty Humor

Do you know what is really funny? Whoopie cushions! It sounds like someone farted and it really makes me laugh. Happy Friday!

Also, I’ve been learning this new crawling thing.  I’ve got about 3/4 of it figured out.

Why’d They Do It?

Posted on

I know some things are bigger than me.  Things like big people.  But someday I will be big like them and I will need other big things.  But I saw this giant balloon today and I just couldn’t figure it out.  Why on earth would they make a balloon that is almost as big as the earth?  It’s bigger than I am. Who needs a balloon that’s bigger than a baby? I totally agree that they should make lots of long ribbons.  Those are good to play with.  But I can’t play with a balloon that big.  I can barely get close enough to lick it.  I licked the other balloons and they didn’t taste good.  I have no idea how this one tastes.  Maybe I’ll ask Max and Oliver about it.  They seem to really like the big balloon and they were so so sad when it popped they had to get hugs from their mom and even after that they were sad.

Love to all my moms

On Mother’s Day you say thanks to all the people who take care of you like a mom does.  So I picked this flower for all my moms.  That means mom who feeds me and wakes up at night and loves me lots, and mom Hannah who takes care of me and listens to my screams and laughs all day every week day, and mom Sarah who takes care of me if dad and mom are busy, and Grand mom Kim who cuddles me and loves me whenever she can and Grand mom Susan who sends me books I like and loves me bunches, and maw-maw T and all the other Great Grand Moms I have.  There are too many for me to count.  Especially since I can’t really count yet.  I love my mom and I show her every day, because I always get excited when she comes in the door, around the corner or even if she just turns around.  Mom says it’s important to be happy for every single little moment you have with people you love and to always let them know how much you love them.  So I’m sending out lots of love to everyone.

Tongue Control

Posted on

I’m getting my bottom two teeth and you know, it feels funny.  I’ve never had hard stuff in my mouth, except for when it’s a toy, so it feels extra strange to have those teeth in there.  It makes me want to poke at it with my tongue.  I’m still working on tongue control, I can’t always get it to go where I want, which is why I think mom doesn’t always understand what I’m saying. When I try to poke at my new teeth with my tongue, sometimes I miss and it just sticks out.

Lots of people have already seen this picture on Facebook, but if you’re not on there, here it is for you. When you fly, you have to stick out your arms and legs and tongue.
